When you cross that finish line -
no matter how slow, no matter how fast
- it will change your life forever.

Today....

Dear Heather,

Today, you need to go for a run.  Don't make excuses, or let someone else talk you into changing your plans to better suit their needs.

I don't care if it is raining out.  You live in Washington state.  If you wait for the rain to stop, you'll be sitting on your ass until July. You are not made of sugar, and will not melt if rained upon.

I don't care if there are birthday celebrations taking place.  You've eaten enough cake in the past two days to fill your yearly quota for cake eating.  The celebrating has to stop at some point.  No better time than right this second.

I don't care if no one wants to run with you.  You want to go for a run, and that's really all that matters.  All about you, baby. All about you.  I'm tired of you putting yourself on the back burner.

I don't care if you run a bit slower today for whatever reason.  I know you're in it for the run & fun - not a finish time.

XOXO,
Self
