Updated January 7, 2011 – AA Sports Limited has made the decision to move the Heart Breaker Half Marathon, 5k & 10k to Sunday, February 20 from its originally scheduled date one week earlier. The Valentine Fanconi Anemia Run/Walk (a fundraiser for Fanconi anemia research) was also slated to take place on the same, originally scheduled date (Feb 13) in downtown Portland. AA Sports felt it was necessary to reschedule the Heart Breaker Half to February 20 to avoid this date conflict and to offer runners and walkers in the Portland community the opportunity to participate in both events rather than having to choose one over the other. Mark your calendars for February 20 and spread the word about this inaugural event.
As the title suggests, the event will include a half marathon (Portland's only February half marathon), as well as a 5K and 10K Run/Walk. The Heart Breaker Half Marathon and related events will take place on Sunday, February 20 at the World Trade Center in downtown Portland, OR, and include both individual and team divisions. Each participant will receive a beautiful finisher medal, and long sleeved commemorative T-shirt (guaranteed if registered by 2/14).
A post race celebration will take place with food, music, and prizes drawings. So whether you are in love, out of love, or looking for love, be sure to check out Portland's newest and only half marathon in the month of February. Registration is limited so don't delay!

I'm guessing you're doing the half marathon? :)
ReplyDeleteGuess who is signing up to be on a Galloway Running Team? -->ME<-- Cool, eh? We'll be running/walking/running/walking with ya.
Saw a couple of shirts at the Penguin's site that you might like (I think I must have them):
"Running my mass off"
"I thought they said rum"
Go Kelly! Tell me more about your training plan when you have time. Are you running with a local team or what? I would love to know more about it. I've been stalking the Clark County Runners Club here in Vancouver. I'm *this close* to joining them.
ReplyDeleteI'm doing the Heart Breaker 10k. I won't be ready for 13 by that point. I could probaby pull it off since I'll be to the 9 mile mark with my training, but it really SUCKED EGGS to do the Portland Half with only 8 mile long runs behind me. Those last 2 miles just about killed me! I'd rather be more prepared this time. So my next half is in May.
I looooooooooooooove the shirts on his site! They crack me up, and I need them all. Need, Kelly! I said NEED.
